32csm members denied entry in Canada and detained

On Wednesday morning (23rd July), Francie Mackey, Peter Fitzsimons and Martin Rafferty boarded a plane to Canada to embark on a 6-day long speaking tour.
Upon arriving in Pearson International Airport, the three were taken aside, interrogated, and told that they were not entering the country.
They are currently being held in prison awaiting deportation back to Ireland. Peter is currently being h...eld in Maplehearst Detention Centre, which is a maximum security prison for those awaiting trial.
If they contest this and have a hearing they were told that they would be held in remand for up to two weeks.
The 32 County Sovereignty Movement are not a prescribed organisation in Canada so this is clearly politically motivated and an attempt to silence and stop the 32 County Sovereignty Movement from getting its message out and to explain to people nothing has changed since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement and that the root cause of conflict has not been addressed, and that is – the violation of Irish National Sovereignty.
This is a direct violation of freedom of speech.

There will be a protest this evening at the Canadian Embassy in Dublin at 7.30pm. More info about the protest
