INTERNMENT BY REMAND AND/OR PSNI HARRASSMENT

Below is a letter which was sent to the media following the release of two Tyrone Internees following no evidence produced by the British state.. Letter written by Francie Mackey:

INTERNMENT BY REMAND AND/OR PSNI HARRASSMENT

The release of Kevin Murphy and Patrick Carty after spending 13 and 8 months respectively in gaol epitomises the ongoing British campaign against Irish people who are prepared to challenge the violation of Irish National Sovereignty.
Kevin Murphy’s case demonstrates the corruption within the British system that allows British policing in Ireland to arrest and detain Irish citizens without a shred of evidence and when the prolonged corrupt court system reaches a stage for evidence to be produced there is none forthcoming.
Republican POW’s are detained in Maghaberry in similar circumstances that amounts to Internment by Remand.
The establishment parties are very quiet at this corrupt British law because they agreed British laws in Ireland. They can only pay lip service to this injustice which is a direct consequence of British Rule.
This case highlights the ongoing injustice against Marian Price also interned and now over 530 days incarcerated and due to her mistreatment in isolation has been experiencing a severe deterioration in her health requiring hospitalisation.
This inhumane treatment of Marian Price and the ongoing degrading strip searching in Maghaberry Gaol of Irish men exposes the myth of a new era in the Anglo Irish conflict.
The abuse of power allowing such injustice confirms to the republican and nationalist base that nothing has changed and there is no confidence in either receiving a fair trial or allowing any justice under this corrupt system. Marian Price’s rights should not be violated in this way, indeed the interference by the British Secretary of State over ruling her release on bail demonstrates the corruption of the system.
No other country would tolerate Internment, Injustice and Violation of the rights of its people yet it is happening here daily.
Have the Home Rule parties at Stormont forgotten our history or are they so cosy in their ivory towers they don’t care.
